I will stamp all over 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
